ALLEN L. LANDMEIER
Allen L. Landmeier graduated from St. Charles High School in 1960, and was
awarded a degree of Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from
Valparaiso University in 1964 where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi, the
engineering honor society. In 1967 he received a Juris Doctor degree from
Valparaiso University School of Law where he was a note editor of the Law
Review. After law school he served as a Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate
General's Corps of the United States Navy until 1970. He received a license
as a patent lawyer and practiced in Chicago for 1½ years with a patent law
firm. Then, he returned to the Fox Valley and began practicing law with
Howard E. Smith, Jr. in 1971. From 1977 through 1997 he was City
Attorney for the City of St. Charles. He has served as President of the Kane
County Bar Association, and as an organizer and President of the Kane
County Bar Foundation. Since 1983 he has been Editor of the Illinois State
Bar Association State and Local Taxation Section Council Newsletter and in
1997 received an Austin Fleming Newsletter Editor's Award. He is a fellow of
the Illinois Bar Foundation. From 1988 through 1997 he was a member of the
Board of Directors of Delnor Community Health Care System, and from 1991
through 1997 was its Secretary. He was a member of the Board of Directors
and Treasurer of the Board of the St. Charles Center for Physical
Rehabilitation. He is a past chairman of the Fox Valley District of the Boy
Scouts of America and received a Silver Beaver Award in 1999. He has
practiced law in all local state and federal courts, and as a general practioner
has actively practiced in estate planning, municipal law, business law and
trademarks. He is also a member of the American Bar Association.
